UCSD 2016 Summer Transition Program

UC San Diego is offering an opportunity for transfer students to participate in a five-week residential program where students earn 8 units of credit in their major. The Academy for Transfer Students is intended for incoming transfer students who will be entering UC San Diego in the Fall quarter from a community college or from a four year college. 

All students admitted to UC San Diego through one of the following five departments are eligible to participate in the Academy.
  1. Biological Sciences (including SIO Marine Biology)
  2. Chemistry and Biochemistry
  3. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
  4. Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)
  5. Mathematics
The overall cost of the program, including tuition, fees, educational programs, housing, meals, books, and supplies, is $5,000 per student. The university wants to help jump-start your education at UC San Diego, and is providing $2,500 in support to all Academy participants. The actual cost to students and families is $2,500. Financial aid loans and/or grants are available to assist eligible students and families in paying the cost to attend the Academy.
